Overview

KEF REFERENCE 5

For over 40 years KEF’s flagship range has been distinguished by the name ‘Reference’ – an exercise in high quality engineering brought bang up-to-date for 2014 with the launch of five new Reference class loudspeakers. Available in Piano Black, Satin American Walnut and Luxury Gloss Rosewood finishes, the 1.35m tall KEF Reference 5 stands proud as the flagship of the range. The combination of four newly-designed 6.5-inch bass drivers, with gently contoured aluminum cones designed to complement the Uni-Q point source array, deliver a deeply impressive and realistic sound.

KEF-Reference 5-2

Magnificent is the only word. KEF’s passion for perfection embodied in a tall three-way floorstander that aligns four powerful, extremely linear 165mm (6.5 inch) bass drivers – two above and two below KEF’s latest 125mm (5 inch) MF/HF Uni-Q array, with the sensational new 25mm (1 inch) vented aluminium dome tweeter at the acoustic centre. Lows are reproduced with consummate agility and control, fluidly integrating with the Uni-Q output to create an all-enveloping soundfield of spine-tingling accuracy and depth. The KEF Reference 5’s distinctive front baffle is made from laminated aluminium and resin composite which is formed in extreme temperature and pressure to add rigidity to the cabinet structure and providing acoustic damping.

For music or film, the KEF Reference 5 reveals subtleties you’d never noticed while gripping your emotions with the full power of the performance.
